FISH-E is a talking fish. Inside a reverse-engineered Billy Bass sits a voice AI you can actually talk to. It’s an absurd way to meet voice AI, and that’s the point.
Where it comes from
The Billy Bass talking fish has been a recurring character throughout northstar’s history. FISH-E brings it back as part of our collaboration with NerdLab, a makerspace in Ghent. NerdLab’s residents will use it to control their smart home and event systems.
Where it has been
FISH-E first met the public at the BROEI opening in Ghent in May 2025, where visitors could walk up to the aquarium and talk with an, arguably sentient, robotic fish.
